Persistent?
You’ll recognize these words of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States,
“Nothing…can take the place of persistence. Talent will not…
Genius will not; …Education will not; …
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent…”
Omnipotent, that signals power with no limits.
Another President of the US, John Quincy Adams,
extolls perseverance as having
“… a magical effect before which … obstacles vanish.”
Nevertheless, when obstacles relentlessly loom before us,
we are likely not to be mindful of the power of perseverance.
Rather, many facing these obstacles feel the urge
to leap into despair, seeking release there.
